Auto thieves using Meta advertising to market their loot?

Did you just steal a car? Probably not. But if you did and your intention was to flip it for quick money, who knew you could turn to Facebook for assistance?

Car thieves and/or scammers are now seemingly exploiting Facebook’s lax and unregulated Meta Advertising to run ads for stolen car for sale.

“Wilson Stryker Cars” is advertising on Meta and is not hiding what they are all about.

“Stryker Cars” = Stolen cars.

It is very possible that those behind this page don’t actually have any cars at all. They may be operating a scam. Everything they are claiming to be in possession of or be able to perform (such as VIN swaps) may all be false. They may simply steal the required deposits. Since the victim(s) paid for illegal services or obviously stolen property, they are unlikely to pursue any recourse including contacting law enforcement.

Still, it is Meta’s responsibility to protect its users. Meta is continuing to allow unregulated ads such as this that are promoting scammers/thieves.
